嶺南中學澳洲柏斯遊學之旅
Australia Study Tour 2004
「讀萬卷書不如行萬里路！」近年本港教育界教颳起遊學風，令年青人不僅增廣見聞，更受多元文化的洗禮，增強語言能力、應變能力和自信。本校一向積極鼓勵學生走出校園、放眼世界，近幾年均由關兆顯老師統籌為期三星期的暑期英語遊學團，已成為一項校內的傳統。
過去幾年我們曾經到紐西蘭，今年應家長的要求特意挑選西澳洲首府柏斯（Perth）為目的地。不過學生入住當地家庭的慣例依舊，因為我們相信，直接深入外國人的生活環境，離開領隊和同學，讓英語自然而然地成為生活中的必要工具，是潛移默化的上佳學習模式，也能提升學生的宏觀視野，擴闊他們接納異國文化的胸襟。7月13日至8月2日的三星期裡學生都是半天留在當地一所國際語言學校，由地道的英語老師帶領以多種形式學習（包括講故事、分享、習作、上網、遊戲等），另外半天則四出集体參觀及戶外活動；傍晚則各分散自行乘火車、巴士或私家車回到當地的接待家庭晚膳。到了周末，就是全日的參觀、戶外活動或由個別接待家庭負責。
總結一下，我們一行16位中一至中四學生與英文科領隊老師侯志輝共走訪過的地方包括帝王公園、動物園、弗列曼托市集、AQWA海洋館、西澳博物館、PICA藝術館、蘇比厄高市集、洛特納斯特島、SicTech科學館、西澳洲大學、鑄幣廠、市政廳、農場、學校、唐人街等，另我們還讓學生嘗試多種活動，包括校園尋寶、遊船河、沙灘排球、室內雷射野戰、澳洲式足球等，還臨時找到離學校不遠的店鋪為本校學生提供一節寶貴的原住民樂器及文化課，受益良多。參觀農場時也剛好遇上越野電單車賽，可謂免費加料。某些接待家庭帶孩子去打保齡、海浴、看日落等。
經過幾星期浸淫，學生的英語水平雖未致於突飛猛進，但至少他們講英語的膽子大了，且見多識廣，也結交了新朋友。歸程中看見學生的依戀和對異國風情的認同，看見他們展示的紀念品和興奮之情，只可說一句：不枉此行。

我覺得今次旅行很精彩。可能是第一次吧！覺得什麼都非常新鮮。在今次旅程中,我除了學到英文外
，還了解到佢地既生活習慣。而且我個寄宿家庭好好人，佢地帶我地去 shoping，去印度洋游水，溜冰仲有BBQ添！因此，我好鍾意佢地。希望下年仲有機會再去啦~~
3. Reflection of Edwin Yeung (4C):
After this trip, I understand more about Australia. I feel the environment
and the air of Perth do not like Hong Kong. I am so happy that I had the
opportunity to compare the difference of the two cities. Although I could go to
foreign countries for sight-seeing, the importance is still for me
to learn English. I hope I can improve my English after this trip.

18/7 Today, I went shopping. I saw many
things: wood, clothes…etc. My schoolmate bought a basketball clothe. I did not
buy anything, because I want to save money for my parents. I miss my mother and
father.
29/7 today, I went to a primary school
to have a visit. The primary school students are funny and kind. Then I went to
Perth Mint.

我回憶起我去澳洲柏斯時,當我們由HK乘坐飛機時,我們在機上吃完Dinner後,我們便開始Sleep~坐在我身旁的一位同學,他睡覺的樣子極為可愛呀~~~~~~
另有一件事,就是我的同房同學,他每晚都致電給在HK的父母,談天,一談就是一小時以上,我想:他的長途電話費一定十分驚人!!!

15/7 In the morning, we went to the
University of W.A. It is big, and we all took photos. The view is very
beautiful. In the afternoon, we had our lessons. The teacher’s name is Katernie.
In the English lesson, we had fun.
19/7 Today, I have lessons in the
morning. In the afternoon, we have football game in the park next to the school.
Our Lingnan School VS another school. In the first game we won 9:3, second game
we won 3:0. It was a lot of fun, and I was the keeper. I want to play next time.
20/7 Today, we went to the AQWA Museum.
There were many animals which lives in the water, e.g. sharks, fish, dolphins,
seals, turtles, etc. They were quite interesting. I love them very much. I took
a lot of photos of them and I bought a key ring at the souvenir shop. It ‘s
cute.
24/ Today, we went to an island called
“Rottnest”, A big island where we can ride bikes. It is cool and we had fun. The
weather was good. We could see the rainbow.

趙思敏)在這個暑假，我到澳洲柏斯學到不少英文生字，更令我體會到人與人之間的緊密關係。在個人角度來說，香港人的冷酷無情，事不關己，己不勞心和外國人真的有太大分別。在這三個星期裏，據我所觀察外國人是熱情的，而且鄰舍互相關照。在生活方面當然比香港好得多，空氣亦好得多，我回港後更因此大病一場。這旅程使我學習到很多事情，使我十分快樂。

還記得,
去年沙士肆虐,學校舉辦的紐西蘭遊學團無奈被取消。
今年暑假，很多謝羅校長為我們安排澳洲柏斯暑期課程。在侯Sir及Florence
(EF遊學公司代表)帶領下，十六位嶺南同學於七月十三日乘搭澳航出發。
由於這次是詠浚第一次自己出門,
我們都不太放心。在三星期課程中，大家都有电話聯絡。他和住宿家庭及嶺南黃同學都可以互相溝通。因為女主人是新加坡人，英文及普通話都有机會練習！還有美味的絲苗白飯呢！
課程編排非常全面，包括校內上課、小組討論、参觀當地名勝、聚餐和購物等等….
回港後，感覺詠浚各方面都有進步。
在這裹，再次多謝羅校長和侯Sir。讓同學們有一個愉快及充實的暑假！

在柏斯這次的遊學團，我覺得很開心。因為可以認識到當地的文化，而且又能結交很多朋友。我還全住當地的寄宿家庭，他們很有善，煮給我們的食物又很好吃。我逢一至五都要上堂，課堂都不是很難，還帶點有趣。最大的收穫，是我學識到獨立，我可以自行乘坐巴士回家，自己出入。而今次的遊學團，真帶給我難忘的旅程。而那裡的天氣只是有好幾天都經常下雨，有時，我還看到彩虹。雖然好像經常都要上堂，但每天都有活動安排，星期日我們的寄宿家庭還會帶我們出外。我的寄宿家庭帶了我到城市裡購物，看看那裡的建築。柏斯這個地方環境很美，空氣清新，真是個合適讀書的地方。那裡的人比起香港人是個相反，因為當地的人經常是悠悠閒閒，我們反而是急促的，讓我見識到多一點。給我最深刻印象，的是去動物園，因為是我第一次看到袋鼠和樹熊，雖然不能抱到樹熊，但可以給我見到都很開心。今次的旅程留給我深刻的印象，一定不會忘記
