Creating Tomorrow’s Leaders

Actions speak louder than words. We cultivate leadership through a wide variety of learning opportunities from making announcements, sharing interesting stories in assemblies and representing our school in various competitions. Take a look at four of our students as they have progressed through our scheme and developed from adorable F.1 students to confident, inspirational leaders as they took on more and more challenging roles.

Learning Outside the Classroom

Learning is not limited to books. We embrace this idea by taking our students outside the classroom and let them explore the language in other settings. Our activities range from appreciating AFTEC drama shows, interviewing tourists in Stanley, reading English books to underprivileged primary students and travelling around Hong Kong to learn more about the city we live in. English is alive and fun and it is a tool for broadening our students' horizons.

Boosting Confidence through Project WeCan

We have had the honour of partnering up with the Blackstone Group L.P. and Project WeCan for years. They have provided our senior students with interviewing workshops and career talks. In addition, our top students have pushed their English abilities even further through a summer intensive course called English WeCan.

 Adapting for the future

Although we had already started to develop e-learning throughout our curriculum, COVID-19 has catapulted us into the e-learning environment and made our teachers and students proficient at all different popular learning apps such as ZOOM, Google Classroom, Kahoot!, Quizlet and Padlet. Therefore, our students feel secure that their learning will continue to flourish and new opportunities for learning will be sought regardless of the current situation.

Enhancing Speaking Skills through the Speech Festival

Every year a large number of our students take up the challenge to join the HK Speech Festival and many other speaking competitions. Not only is it a great way for them to improve their articulation and pronunciation, it also develops their ability to use tone and pace to build drama. This makes them more confident in their own abilities to speak English and teaches them a life-long skill that will aid them in the future.
